Every first appointment begins with a consultation to assess your dog’s mouth and comfort level. If we detect dental disease, severely broken teeth, or your dog is too stressed to proceed, we’ll refer you to your veterinarian when appropriate.
Fee only charged when cleaning cannot proceed. If your dog is a candidate and we can go ahead with the cleaning right away, the consult fee will be waived. New clients will receive a teeth cleaning quote during the consultation.

Teeth Cleaning
Ultrasonic teeth cleaning effectively and painlessly removes plaque without anesthesia. Our experienced team ensures every cleaning is safe and comfortable by reading your dog’s body language and energy. This gentle, non-invasive procedure preserves enamel while thoroughly cleaning every tooth.
What’s Included:
Comprehensive mouth examination, ultrasonic teeth cleaning, professional plaque removal, complimentary nail trim, 10-30 minute gentle session, post-cleaning care recommendations.
First-Time Cleaning: ranges from $75 – $250
New dogs receive a consultation to assess if your dog is a good candidate. If no veterinary issues are found, we’ll provide a quote and can proceed immediately. If concerns arise, the cleaning won’t proceed, and the $45 consultation fee will apply.
Maintenance Cleanings: (returning clients)
- Annual cleanings: $190 + GST (Or less)
- 6 month cleanings: $95 + GST (Or less)
- 3 month cleanings: $75 + GST
Note: Our minimum cleaning rate is $75 + GST. We do not perform scalings under the gum line, tooth extractions/repairs or treat gum disease.
Nail Trimming
As an additional service, Seashell Canine Care offers complimentary nail trims for dogs after their consultation or teeth cleaning. If you don’t trust yourself to do the nail trimming right, let a professional do it for you!

Frequently asked questions
Won’t my dog panic when you attempt to use tools in their mouth?
We work one-on-one with your dog to build trust and approach each pet with patience and care. Animals are highly sensitive to energy, and our team has years of experience working with them. Our calm and confident demeanor helps put pets at ease, allowing them to feel more comfortable throughout the process. We introduce the tools gradually, and once your pet realizes there’s no pain involved, most dogs are happy to allow us to continue with the cleaning.
Are old dogs that have health issues candidates for anesthetic-free teeth cleaning?
Yes! As long as there are no serious dental issues or loose teeth that would prevent us from safely performing the cleaning, anesthetic-free cleanings are a great option. This method is especially beneficial for older pets or those with heart, kidney, liver, or respiratory conditions who may not be able to tolerate general anesthesia.
How do you handle aggressive or fearful dogs?
During the consultation, we can usually assess your dog’s temperament within the first few minutes to determine if they are a good candidate for a cleaning. In most cases, we are able to calm fearful dogs with our gentle touch and calm energy. However, if your dog displays highly aggressive behaviour, they will not be a suitable candidate for a cleaning with us. Our consultation fee is $45 if we aren’t able to safely work with your dog. In such cases, we may recommend a teeth cleaning under general anesthesia with your Veterinarian instead.
Can clients stay in the room during the cleaning?
Unfortunately, we do not allow clients to stay in the room while their pet is being worked on. It’s important for us to build a trusting relationship with your pup, based on communication and comfort. When an owner stays, it can create confusion for the dog and form a barrier that makes it more difficult for us to establish that trust and connection. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to relax in our reception area while we care for your dog.
Can you pull loose or problem teeth?
No, we do not extract teeth. If your dog is in need of any extractions we will refer your dog to the veterinarian.
